Get Help That Fits Your Business & Goals

Last week we talked about LinkedIn and why it still has real organic power.

This week, we’re answering the next logical question:  “Okay… but how do I get help with this?”

Because social media support is not one-size-fits-all. And hiring the wrong kind of help can cost you time, money, and momentum.

In this episode, I’m walking you through how to think strategically about getting support based on your goals, your leverage, and your budget.

We’re workshopping this together.

Here’s what we cover:

  • The three questions to ask before hiring social media help
  • How to define your outcome (social proof vs. lead engine vs. campaign push)
  • What type of leverage you actually need
  • The three tiers of social media support
  • When to hire a VA, a specialist, or a full agency
  • Why process is non-negotiable once you bring someone on

This is about freeing yourself up, not adding more chaos to your business.

If you’ve been trying to do everything yourself, or you’ve been unsure what kind of support makes sense at your stage, this episode will help you make a confident decision.

🎧 Press play and choose the level of support that aligns with your goals, your season, and your growth plan.

Welcome back to another edition of the Course Creation Incubator podcast. I’m your host Gina Onativia, here to getyou excited about building your courses, your workshops, your memberships, your group coaching program, whatever it is you are cooking up. I’m here to help you market and sell in more profitable ways and take your offline message online in a bigger way.

And speaking of taking your message and bringing it online in a bigger way. Last episode we talked about LinkedIn and how I still feel like it’s a great way to make impact organically without paying for ads. So if you have a listen to that, go back and check out that episode. Today we’re going to drill down on how to get you the best social media support because now’s the time to get help.

I want you in your zone of genius, like I said at the beginning of this episode. And part of this was prompted by two clients that I have, lovely, lovely women that I love helping. We have a really honest, fun relationship, and I’m helping them with strategy in terms of LinkedIn and matter. So when it comes to social media strategy, I’m your girl, right?

Overarching content marketing. How does it work with all these other channels? Love it. And then they were setting up some meta platforms and profiles and they hit a snag. Snag is maybe underselling it. They hit a wall and they said, We will. Gina, can you help us out with these profiles? And that’s when it dawned on me, I’m hitting a wall.

I’m not your gal for this because even though I can talk strategy, I don’t know enough about setting up profiles to help them in a great way. So I’m bringing in support for them because I realized I’m not the expert. So if you’re listening right now, hey, if you’re a social media expert and you’re listening right now, this might not be the episode for you.

Maybe you’ll figure out how to frame yourself in a better way, right? Or the clients that you really want. Maybe this episode is for you. But most of you listening and of course Creation Incubator Land are looking for support, are looking for leverage. So you can really use your talents in different ways so you can remain the talent.

So I knew I needed to get these two clients support and and that realization really prompted me to talk through this. Also, I’ve got another client who just hired a content agency, and we’ve been walking through our processes with them, and that’s been really fun and eye opening. So both of these instances have really prompted me to say, Hey, you guys, we want to get help, we want to get support and we want to make sure it’s the best fit for you.

So how do you know if support is the best fit for you in terms of social media? Let’s ask three questions and let’s dive into our workshop here a little bit. And first and foremost, what’s your outcome? My favorite question? What’s your outcome when it comes to social media? Because people have different outcomes depending on what your business is.

How are you using social media? How are you interacting with your audience in the day to day? Do you have a campaign coming up or opportunities where you really need to up the stakes in terms of social media? Or is it an ongoing play for you for leads? Do you plan to run ads? Do you plan to build out a robust funnel?

So you want to think about how am I using social media? Maybe you’re just using it for social proof to say, Hey, if somebody goes off my website. Okay, website is one great brand site is an awesome way to show, hey, I’m an expert here, I’m an authority. And then they’re going to click over and see if you have a profile.

We all do it. That’s what my social media is really about. It’s about getting the word out on this podcast and showing people, Hey, you can like and trust me because I’m legit. We keep an Instagram up, we have LinkedIn, we have YouTube. So so people see, okay, we have a presence. So that’s number one. What is your outcome when it comes to social media?

The second question is what type of leverage are you looking for? So I love to ask this question because we come with our own set of talents and skills. And by the way, just because we have talent and skill is I mean, we want to use it. But for example, I have clients who say, I want to write my own posts.

I need you to handle that. Or they come up with their own strategy. So they have strategy and they have a copy. They said, I don’t I don’t want anyone messing with that. But they said, I want the design and I want the posting of the execution. Okay, great. They all planning to say, hey, can you please take it all?

Okay. I don’t understand social media. I don’t want to. Can you learn my voice? My overarching brand goals and run with it? Okay, so that’s a second question. What type of leverage do you want? Or I’ve had clients just come in and say, I just need some strategy. I’ve got a great virtual assistant who can do all these things, compose great videos, etc. But I need guidance in terms of how I am using social media thoughtfully.

Okay, great. So one outcome too. What type of leverage are you looking at based on support you already have? Very important. And three, I always like to throw out budget. Okay, So some of you want a smaller budget to start. Maybe you’re just making the transition from one to ones or coaching to going out in a bigger way and thinking, Hey, I just want to put a little bit towards this.

I want to build up my profile, but I don’t need to go quite that big yet. Some of you have campaigns, some of you are putting on books and you got a six month run out to put out your first book and you want to go out in a bigger way. You’re going to invest more in social media, more in organic, if that’s the case.

So outcome, the type of leverage and support that you’re looking for and where you might want to take on or support you already have. And then three, what your budget an idea of is it the hundreds or the thousands or even the tens of thousands? But that’s another conversation. Okay. So based on those questions, let’s look at your tiers of support that I see.

Like, based on my expertise, because I either hire for these tiers or help teams fulfill for these tiers. So so this is where my expertise lies. So in tier one, you dictate strategy and oftentimes someone will help you with posting. So in this case, you’re likely hiring a virtual assistant or an online business manager to help you with the execution.

So maybe you’re clear on your strategy because you know your brand, you’ve been consistent, you know your audience, but you’re ready to bust out, Going to be your way with your profile, but you just want help posting. So that’s the clients I mentioned at the beginning of this episode. That’s really their tier that they’re looking for. So oftentimes, again, it’ll be a VA, a virtual assistant or an OPM, an online business manager who is here to support you month to month, week to week.

So and then help you build. So what I love about the Tier one is there’s an intimacy there, a connection that you’re making with that one person to help you grow your social media. So I’m lucky I’ve got David on my team who’s helping me grow social media. So I got a small but my team that’s helping me with that.

So that’s tier one and that’s appropriate. If you’re a boutique business, your entrepreneur, or you’re just getting your online presence going. So that Tier one is really great. Tier two, you want the strategy and the posting in terms of execution and it’s ongoing. So I’ve got a client who just hired a social media agency to create some really awesome reels carousels, etc. It’s kind of revamp their strategy and Tier two is a great appropriate place for them, and that would be a smaller agency or a team, or it could be somebody who specialized as a social media expert who’s not necessarily a general virtual assistant.

And you’re going to obviously with that, you’re going to have a little bit more budget. Talking about our three questions, talking about your outcome and outcomes to really grow the brand for a specific offer, leverage, total average budget a little bit more. So that’s appropriate. If you’ve been in the brand game for a while, you like I said, you establish an offer, you’re selling a digital course or an event and it’s really established you have enough students to know what works and what doesn’t work.

You want to be at Tier two with the strategy and the posting, and then there’s tier three and this is all in all in, if I can use my old York accent there. And this to me is really tied to opportunity. And you have a bigger campaign you’re looking to fulfill, like the book campaign that I mentioned earlier with this, you might want to hire a bigger agency to support you in multiple ways for social, a full holistic content marketing strategy with organic and paid media all wrapped into a multichannel marketing campaign.

Now, this is an appropriate if you are either launching a big initiative, like I just mentioned, maybe you’re starting your brand from scratch, but you’re launching a book in six or eight months. Then you want to go all in in terms of tier three, and that’s what you might be looking at. So outcomes, different type of leverage, total budget is going to be a little higher, as you can imagine.

So I want you to thinking about what here is right for you. Tier one, scrap your tier two. You’re a little more established. Tier three, you got a campaign you’re going for, you’ve got an opportunity and you want to spend the money, You want to spend the time, whatever the tier looks like for you. I want to reiterate, I want you to get the support that’s right for you.

I also want to say it doesn’t have to be a lot of money, especially when you’re starting with tier one, You know, with tier three, you’ve got a clear opportunity, you’ve got a clear opportunity for ROI against your organic offers. So it makes sense to spend more budget, whatever tier you choose. I want to emphasize process, make sure you’ve got a clear and clean process of how you’re looking at your content calendar.

Each week. You’re proving each week how you’re communicating what you like and what you don’t like in terms of posting and communication. Always, always, always. So critical when it comes to hiring. Hopefully this was helpful to you in terms of the social media support that you’re looking for to help your business grow. If this made any impact on you, I would love for you to leave me a review.

I’ll link in the show notes directly to where you can leave me a review. And thanks for listening and I’ll see you next time. Go create, be and be brilliant and get it done.
